Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Completion of university

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work

Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting: Nursing or convalescent home

Area of Specialization: General duty, Geriatrics, Palliative care

Specific Skills: Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care, Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions, Develop and implement health education programs, Deliver health education programs, Provide health education, Provide nursing care, Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice, Plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate health education services, Deliver immunization programs, Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
